Previous positions held by Randy include Senior Field Auditor for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Missouri, the Medicare intermediary for the state of Missouri; Supervising Senior Auditor for the Big Six firm of Coopers & Lybrand; and Director of Reimbursement for the Deaconess Incarnate Word Health System, a four hospital acute care system with various medical education and nursing school teaching programs consisting of approximately 1,000 beds.
Randy has worked with hospitals, physician groups, universities, long-term care facilities, pharmaceutical companies, third-party payers and home health agencies. Financial assignments have included mergers and acquisitions, financial statement preparation and analysis, feasibility studies, accounts receivable and third party reserve analysis, charge master reviews, debt analysis and operational cost studies. Reimbursement assignments have included Medicare and Medicaid appeals and litigation, cost report reviews and reopening, mergers and acquisitions, third party payment negotiations, reimbursement strategy analysis and contractual allowance and reserve analysis.
Randy is a Certified Public Accountant and has a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. He is a member of the Healthcare Finance Management Association and is the former board member for one of the largest Medicaid HMO plans in Missouri. He is also a member of the AICPA and Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.
